Established in March 1988, Yujin Robot (www.yujinrobot.com) is Korea's quintessential service robot company. Over the past 30 years, the company has amassed substantial know-how in the field of service robots, securing cutting edge technology in the robot field. The company plans to grow by 50% annually and reach sales of W300bn in five years. To achieve this corporate vision of diversification, Yujin Robot is moving away from their original sole focus on cleaning robots and expanding their repertoire to include logistics robots, building cleaning robots, robot parts, and outdoor platforms.

The company is known for their household cleaning robots. Released in October, their new product, ‘iClebo O5’, is a premium robot cleaner that boasts a sophisticated design with powerful suction capabilities that removes even fine microdust and advanced features such as artificial intelligence and remote cleaning. The robot is the first of the company’s products to be loaded with artificial intelligence so that the robot is able to remember, learn, and store relevant location data, and be controlled via a smartphone to clean remotely or configure the cleaning area. In addition, the robot is able to sense and assess its cleaning environment so that it can adjust its suction power accordingly. Advanced functions such as remote update are included to maximize user convenience. Now, with the use of a smartphone, users are able to remotely clean whenever and wherever their location, as dedicated applications allow cleaning commands, control and real-time cleaning robot status from inside and outside the home. In particular, the 'AI Smart Map Editor' is available to program a specific cleaning zone – a function that strongly reflects the needs of users who want to clean only certain spaces such as the living room or areas with pets.

Yujin Robot has also partnered with KT to load KT’s interface GiGA Genie onto a cleaning robot for the ‘iClebo GiGA Genie Edition’. To provide maximum voice command experience, the product supports 8 voice commands such as start and end cleaning, charging, checking driving status and battery level, changing motor strength and cleaning pattern, door threshold mode, and carpet mode setting. Using simple voice commands, the user can instruct the robot to perform cleaning tasks without needing to use a separate remote controller.

Yujin Robot is looking to move away from their old business model of focusing solely on household cleaning robots and strengthen their logistics robots and robot parts business.

The company’s new ‘GoCart 120’ is an autonomous logistics delivery system equipped with an autonomous drive solution that integrates their proprietary technology. Stereo cameras, 3D sensors and ultrasonic sensors are used to accurately analyze the floor plan and identify obstacles to avoid collisions. Moreover, the robot can use elevators, move from floor to floor, pass through automatic doors, and in general navigate complicated spaces that are typical of hospitals, hotels, and factories, as well as narrow spaces.

Along with their GoCart 120, Yujin Robot also recently officially announced their '3D lidar sensor', a piece of technology that can identify indoor and outdoor environments and objects in 3D. The technology can quickly and precisely identify objects, even in the dark. Compared to its competitors, the quality of the product is superior, and its low price allows its wide use in various fields such as service robots, industrial robots, and 4th industrial fields where people and object recognition is desired.

With this new lineup of products, Yujin Robot is well on their way to diversifying into building-cleaning robots and industrial logistics robots.
