Established in 2000, DM Technology has been supplying the new slide type, localized [purely Korean made], high speed, high precision, and high load Gantry Robot and Swivel & Gripper Systems, as demanded by their customers. The company is moving towards specializing in development commercialization and logistics automation of linear motors for robots. Since its foundation, DM Technology has had a singular focus on gantry robots – supplying them mainly to their partner companies in the domestic automobile and machine parts supply industries.

In 2007, it became suppliers of gantry robots to large companies such as Hyundai Motor Company, GM Daewoo, Doosan Infracore, and Hyundai Wia, paving the way for their entry into the Chinese market. DM Technology has received technology for transporting heavy materials from the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute, and developed and enhanced the on-site Gantry Robot System technology, which enables automatic high-speed transfer and loading.

In addition, they develop technology and supply products associated with the linear motor-driven next-generation high-speed wireless Gantry Robot System, large swivel & gripper system for high loads, 6-axis high speed wireless Gantry Robot System for load capacities of 25kg, 50kg, and 100kg; and 8th generation high speed, heavy load axis for robot driving.

DM Technology is a representative success story of the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement’s robot market creation project, as the company has received support from this project. Through the introduction of robots in the small and medium sized manufacturing companies, they have optimized the manufacturing process and achieved considerable sales performance since 2013. In 2015, they enhanced their supply with the “3D-applied bin picking robot (bin picking gantry robot)” project with the support of KIRIA’s market creation project.

DM Technology supplies linear motors, bin picking robot, tool changer, gantry robots for automatic warehousing, and 4-axis multi-joint robots. The linear motors are high speed and high precision suitable for long distance transportation; the orthogonal robots and gantry robots for electronic and semiconductor lines requiring cleanliness. The bin picking robot system can do difficult or tedious work to improve the line automation rate by applying 3D / 2D vision technology.

The Gantry Robot for Automatic Warehouse is a robot system for warehouse management to manage shipments coming in or going out. By linking with the ERP System, it is possible to implement a total warehouse automation system for sorting, loading and shipment management. The four-axis jointed-arm robot is capable of coping with small-volume production of various types of products in an adaptive way. In addition, the company has a lineup of products such as the Gripping System, Track Motion (Logistics Loading Robot System, Heavy Weight Rapid Transport System), Positioning System, Heavy Duty Modular, and Logistics Automation (Tire Automatic Warehouse System, Molded Loading System).

DM Technology has opened an office in Shanghai, China and is currently working overtime to bring their products to the Chinese market. Due to the Chinese initiative “China Manufacturing 2025,” the use of robotic automation systems by manufacturers is expected to spike, and DM Technology is in active pursuit of this opportunity.
