ERAP Korea Co., Ltd. (www.erapkorea.co.kr) was established in 2002 and is now Korea’s foremost military drone specialist. The company was founded with a vision to lead the aerospace industry by creating optimal solutions built on decades’ worth of experience and technology know-how accumulated since the 1980s at companies in Korea and advanced countries in the aerospace and telecommunications industries. ERAP’s business focus has centered on domestic and overseas business development and sales.

ERAP is widely known in the aerospace industry for their integrated solutions, providing ground support equipment, developing and producing cutting-edge aviation systems and components, including Aircraft MRO services to Korea and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Their main business areas include the development and applications of unmanned aerial system drone ground support equipment (ATE, STE, Simulator), and development and production of depot maintenance (Avionics and Components), avionics electronics and parts, and ATC.

This year, ERAP Korea began production and testing of a special-purpose drone, the ED-815A (“Monster”), and have taken steps for full-scale exports to the Middle East and other countries. A large multicopter, the ED-815A is an ICT technology-based fourth-generation drone able to carry out special missions. This drone was created by the convergence of key electronics and software technologies in ERAP’s advanced trainer and the fixed wing drone.

The ED-815A (Monster) will also be used to provide domestic Korea Post delivery services and is being promoted jointly by the Korea Post Office, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), and ERAP Korea. It is designed to travel up to 20 km at 70 km/h for a duration of about 50 to 60 minutes. This model is able to carry goods up to 15kg and posesses automatic takeoff and landing capabilities. The drone is large, measuring at 2780 * 2780 * 850. Simply by entering the coordinates, without the need for a manual remote control, the entire process – from takeoff, to flight, delivery, and return – is completely automated, attesting to the adavanced technology behind this product.

GOLD EAGLE ED650 is an advanced 3D surveillance system. The drone can fly for a distance of up to 10km for 50 to 60 minutes at 70 km/h. Weighing 15kg, it can carry cargo of 5 to 10kg. The size is 990 * 990 * 680. This is a special purpose drone, ideal for shooting films, aerial agriculture photos, or power system surveillance.

The NIMBLE ED550M is a multipurpose unmanned aerial system, with a sleek, aerodynamic design. The drone can fly up to a distance about 5km at a speed of 50km/h for 20 to 40 minutes. Weighing 3.4kg, up to 1kg can be loaded onto this drone. The size is 320 * 320 * 160. By equipping with a variety of devices, this drone is capable of carrying out a wide range of missions.

In addition to these drones, ERAP Korea’s offering are wide ranging. Last year, the company launched the Sea Dragon, an upgraded version of the existing ED550W Water Dragon, and the fixed-wing Phoenix, which boasts a long flight time and speed of 85km/h.

Sea Dragon is a hexaroter drone that can carry out a diverse range of day or night missions even in inclement weather; in particular, it can also carry out underwater searches. The fixed-wing Phoenix is well-suited to carry out reconnaissance missions, as it is capaple of long-distance flying. Constructed of special materials, this drone has excellent durability.

The EK 700 and EK 600 are Mapping drones. They can fly up to 4 hours and can cover an area of 50 to 70km2 at 110km/h. They weigh about 9kg and use gasoline engines.

CEO of ERAP Korea, Gerry Won M Huh affirmed, "In order to make inroads to the vast overseas markets and commercialize the domestic drone delivery service, we are planning to add more research specialists; we are committed to making the ED-815A (Monster) a First Mover, not a Fast Follower in the advanced drone delivery market."
