¡ã Delta Robot
Robotro (www.robotro.com) is a Korean robot company that specializes in the production of robot parts such as servo actuators, motor drivers and motion controllers, and small industrial robots.

The company has developed a small-sized Delta Robot, unlike other robots, which can be used without any need to significantly alter the existing system for assembly and inspection; thus, it can be introduced to the robot system in a short period of time.

The ultra small high-precision Delta Robot JRD-U7 (payload 0.3 – 0.5 kg); small high-precision Delta Robot JRD-M7 (payload 0.3 - 1.0kg); medium/heavy load Delta Robot JRD-S7-400 (payload 3.0 - 5.0kg); medium and high-load Delta Robot JRD-S7-550 (payload 5.0 - 10.0kg) are among the line-up of Delta Robots. The Delta Robot (parallel robot) moves in a specified direction such as X, Y, Z in a three-dimensional space. Although the robot is limited in its movements, its small operation radius makes it ideal for work requiring repetitive actions in a confined space.

The Robotro Delta Robot’s advantage is

¡â for the small/medium size lineup, the small sized one can be held in the palm of the hand up to a medium-sized payload of 10 kg and applied to the assembly and inspection process for small/medium-sized IT products.

¡â With its fast operation speed, lightweight link and high speed BLDS motor, a distance of 100 mm can be repeated 4 times per second.

¡â Highly accurate, with a motor decelerator which incorporates a high precision harmonic decelerator and, thanks to a patent-pending backlash reducing Delta link mechanism, it is possible for repetitive precision within 50um.

¡â Using a real-time motion interpolator, with a 32 bit MCU embedded motion controller, it allows real-time inverse/forward kinematics operations and linear and circular interpolation movement.

¡âIndependent operation is possible with a self-manufactured independent-drive motion controller attached to an external system such as a PC.

¡â With an Input/output port support, 16/16 input/output port is offered for external input-output. Along with system I/O such as Emergency Stop, Zero Position, Ready, and Stop, User I/O can be also be redefined.

¡â With the Excel-based motion editing function, learning to control the robot is easily done with about a 30-minute training session by using Excel’s cell based robot teaching program, rather than on the robot teaching method based on the existing language.

¡âBy providing various API functions, the main external system can directly control the various API protocols so that the external program can control all of the functions of the JRD.

Due to its parallel structure mechanism, Delta Robots’ movements are much faster than what other robot systems can implement. In addition to the characteristic assets of the Delta Robot, the JRD series employs a backlash reduction link mechanism that allows superior precision, unlike the other Delta Robots. Real-time inverse/forward kinematics operations are performed at about 1000 times per second, enabling very precise linear/circular interpolation movements. In addition, the design of the small-sized robot is not easily implemented in other existing robots and can be assembled easily in an area 1/3 of the size needed by other robots.

As a result of these numerous merits of the JRD series, when applied to the smart phone lens parts kitting facility, company “A, ” was able to reduce over 30% of their investment costs.
