After its founding in 2004, SeneS Technology Co., Ltd.(www.senestechnology.com) has become a leading player in the domestic robot industry by focusing on industrial articulated robots, Servo mate decelerators, and RFID automation devices. In doing so, they have laid the groundwork for the Korean robotics industry. In the robotics field, SeneS Technology offers the small 6-axis multi-joint industrial robot series (Robo 005/010/015), the superior quality Servo mate reducer (RV Reducer type), and the “Zero Back Harmonic Drive.”

The 6-axis industrial robot, Servo mate reducer, and Harmonic drive “Zero Back Drive” are industrial robots or key robot components. Compared to a similar Japanese product, the 6-axis industrial robot boasts 85% performance at 70% price competitiveness. The biggest advantages lie in the ease of parts replacement, and maintenance. With the PLC based program, operating the product is also easy.

¡ãServo mate reducer
The Servo mate reducer is a robot part that allows precise control using the planocentric method for strength against overload. There is minimal backlash, rotational vibration, and inertia allowing for good acceleration performance, smooth motion, and accurate position locator. The company offers products used in a wide variety of fields such as LCD manufacturing equipment, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, industrial robots, machine tools, and transfer equipment.

In addition, the Zero Back Drive has reproduced the features found in conventional harmonic drives, such as high torque capacity, high rigidity and compactness and a large caliber-based simple design. Flexible roller bearings have been utilized rather than the flexible bearings that are used in conventional harmonic drives for evenly distributed loads to the flex splines, thereby extending the life of the flex splines. SeneS holds patents related to this technology.

SeneS Technology has also been actively participating in the “Robot Parts Distribution Project,” sponsored by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy. Since 2009, the company has been steadily developing the “wave gear decelerator.” The wave gear decelerator belongs to the wave gear precision reducer. It is one of the core parts of the robot together with the servo motor with a high price tag. In particular, as industrial machinery becomes more automated and robots are becoming more intelligent, the application field has been widening. It is interfaced with the servo motor to decelerate the motor speed and increase the output torque. The decelerator used in robots requires higher precision than decelerators used in the general industry. High precision, high torque at low speed technology is essential.

¡ãSeneS Technology Robot
The wave gear reducer is utilized not only in the robot industry such as in vertical orthogonal robots, but also in SCARA robots, and parallel robots but also in the semiconductor industry for transferring sensitive material, an NC machine, and in polishing. Although decelerators are heavily used in many fields, the global market is dominated by a handful of advanced companies and Japan. This has proven to be an impediment to the competitiveness of the domestic robot industry. SeneS began early to localize the gear reducer and can now boast of technological prowess on par with international companies.

SeneS Technology has applied the locally-developed wave gear decelerator to Korean SCARA robots. SeneS Technology is actively pursuing the global market with the domestically developed wave gear decelerator. They received favorable reviews for their robot parts such as the decelerator at the export conference in Malaysia in 2014, the Shanghai International Robot Show in China, and the International Robot Automation show in Taiwan.

SeneS Technology plans to secure more than 10% market share of the domestic decelerator parts market. On basis of this, they plan to stand shoulder to shoulder with other advanced companies such as Japan in overseas markets. By participating in overseas exhibitions such as “AUTOMATICA” (Germany), “CIROS” (China, Shanghai), “TAIROS” (Taiwan), and “MIS” (Indonesia), the company expects to hold export conferences and meetings with buyers to enter the global market.

¡ãSeneS Technology Reducer
The company has been working to collaborate with domestic robot companies, improving product performance and maintenance with the construction of an in-house test bed, and expanding their series of precision wave gear reducers and seeking out its application to other industrial fields as well as the robotics field. By doing so, SeneS Technology aims to grow deep roots in the domestic robot parts industry.
