Established in September 2003, Robo3 (www.robo3.com CEO, Jun Hyung Kim) is a powerhouse in the Korean personal mobility market. In 2003, the company stepped into the robot market with its Santa’s Helper Robot R3-A, and in 2004 produced Korea's first KBS Orchestra Conductor Robot. During its history, the company has developed a self-balancing scooter, an electric, rideable 4-legged robot, Korea's first acoustic drum playing robot, a stair climbing wheelchair, and a transformer robot. Suffice it to say, they have accumulated a mountain of technological knowledge in the robotics field.

¡ã Electric scooter
In addition, for the first time in Korea, Robo3 developed a personal mobility system by applying gyroscope-sensing technology used in cutting edge aerospace technology to self-balancing technology. With the tightening of environmental regulations and increasing number of megacities, as well as a growing number of 1 or 2 member families and general trend towards an aging society, the company expects the spotlight on the personal mobility (PM) market to shine brighter. The company has been offering its personal mobility equipment such as the Robo3 BB-Rider, the world’s first dial type BB-Chair, and ultra-light electric scooter.

¡ã Moving chair
Since last year, Robo3 has fully launched its new Personal Mobility (PM) robot, the Moving Chair. In development since 2013, the company used technology contained in the balancing scooter to produce a technologically superior Moving Chair. Because the personal mobile robots run on electricity-charged batteries, no noise or exhaust is produced, making them attractive in the overseas market as a new 21st century method of transportation.

The Moving Chair is a mobile robot that has a chair mounted onto a Balancing Bike. By tilting to one side or the other, the user can control the speed; the steering knob can be used to control the direction. By using the gyro and tilt sensors, the user is able to move with his/her center of gravity.

Compared to existing products, the newly upgraded Moving Chair has a detached seat and driving structure, allowing the convenience of transporting it in automobiles. The weight is 58kg and the world's first easy-to-expand, large-capacity battery pack built into the seat (25V 107A) is available for all day driving. Its speed is 17 km/h. It can easily travel over bumps of 5 cm and slopes of 15 to 20 degrees.

In addition, by incorporating the world's first AST (Automatic Straight Traveling) technology, the product can maintain its alignment even when the tire is punctured while driving. The company has applied for a new technology patent for this extraordinary AST technology in the United States.

¡ã LOVY
Robo3 plans to increase its product lineup. They are planning to launch a variety of robots such as the service robot “Lovy” to provide delivery service at cafes and other establishments. Lovy is a two-wheeled service robot capable of self-driving in and out of a building, with neck, hand, wrist and arm movement capabilities. With telepresence and entertainment functions, it can be used as a multipurpose robot. The BB-Junior is a steering wheel type, 2-wheel self-balancing electric scooter that can be turned by moving the steering wheel from side to side. Currently, the 900W model has been developed and released to sold at EvShop.

In April last year, Robo3 attracted attention by becoming newly listed on the Korean market, KONEX. According to the CEO of Robo3 Jun Hyung Kim, in order to compete with overseas companies such as Xiaomi, the company will need to invest a great deal of capital in R&D. With capital secured as a result of the KONEX listing, the CEO revealed that the company will be more aggressive in their R&D efforts. They are also taking steps toward a KOSDAQ listing.
