From Home to Enterprise with a Variety of Robot Platforms, “CoreBell”

Since its founding in 2002 as a Korean robot service system company, CoreBell (www.corebell.com) has been working to implement a location based service system and other important related technologies. Based on positioning technology that can generate maps for location guidance as well as obstruction avoidance to autonomously reach the desired destination, the company has been producing and supplying robot products currently in use in museums, distribution centers, and homes. With its positioning system, the company’s mobile robot system can be applied to an unlimited number of fields where automation is desired. In so doing, the company hopes to become a leader in the burgeoning 4th Industrial Revolution.

Their main business areas cover industrial logistics for robot systems and comprise the Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV), a product transport automated system; the multi-product robot palletizing system; the Gripper; service robots and systems, among others. With CoreBell’s smart mobile robot technology, indoor robot positioning and correction technology, environment recognition and avoidance are possible, as is the operation program, an editing tool Storyline Editor (Operations SW) that allows the design and electrical and technical control of the robots.

CoreBell's Industrial Smart Mobile Robot System is based on autonomous navigation with which the transfer and inspection process of materials and final products can be automated. Industrial logistics robot systems include the PSV for pallet transport and RSV for rack transport. For pallet transportation, the PSV600, PSV1000 (maximum load capacity 600 and 1000kg) and forklift type unmanned transfer vehicles PSV1300FL and PSV2500FL are available; for rack type transport, the RSV250, RSV500, and RSV500L are available.

The installation of this robot system requires little time, and because it requires no floor markers, the path of the system can be re-routed freely. The system is able to pinpoint its desired location, and by being aware of the surrounding objects and thus avoiding collisions, the robot is able to easily move into the target location. Because it is able to move freely, it is an ideal system to use in tight areas.

▲ Palletizing Robot System
The Palletizing Robot System stacks the products that are contained in PE-Boxes into a pallet by type, and once loading is completed, the PSV600 then autonomously transports the pallet. By working with the PSV system, this collaboration ensures precision during the installation and operation phases and reduces operating costs.

The service cost of using the conveyor is lowered by more than 30% with a processing speed of 225 pieces per hour; the classification loading accuracy, classification error rate, loading sorting defect rate is within 3.4ppm. It can process a variety of products such as small-sized items and original equipment packaging.

The Gripper includes SGP for the PE box, MGP for PE box and paper box, DGP that can manage two PE-boxes at once, and FLP, a full layer palletizer.

▲ Docent Robot
The service robots include the commentator Docent Robot, home security robots, wheelchair commentator robots, and air purifier robots.

The commentator (Docent) Robot guides visitors through exhibits in museums and galleries by providing interesting information to visitors. Based on position recognition technology, the robot is able to identify the exact location of the exhibits and drive itself to offer its guide services. The wireless headset that is provided can support four simultaneous languages. The robot can be used for 8 to 10 hours with one charge, with a maximum speed of 1.2km/h.

The Second Home Security Robot is a security robot for “second homes” that remain unoccupied for most of the year. In an irregular situation, the control center is able to confirm the scene through video and dispatch someone to assess the situation. Users of the service can also directly monitor the inside of their properties by Internet or mobile phone, and images are recorded for a period of time through an internal storage device.

The Commentary Docent Wheelchair Robot can assist a physically impaired person to act as a commentator.

The Air Purifier Robot is a smart air purifier robot that can move from place to place to analyze air quality and purify it. One such air purifier robot can purify a wider area of space than existing air purifiers.
