Sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and co-hosted by the Korea Association of Robot Industry (KAR), the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement (KIRIA), and the Institute of Control, Robotics and Systems (ICROS), Korea’s largest robot festival “RobotWorld” will open this September 13th and will run for four days until the 16th. The trade show will be held in Ilsan, in the first and second halls of KINTEX.

This year’s RobotWorld exhibitions are set to feature cutting edge robot convergence technologies such as Industrial Robots, Service Robots, drones, and 3D Printing Solutions, among others. It is one of the world’s largest trade shows and the largest in Korea.

The exhibition’s program includes a robot industry show, an International Robot Contest, the R-Biz Challenge, an International Robot Conference, a Global Robot Business Forum, a Korea-China Robot Business Forum, and exploratory workshops on the competitiveness of the robot industry.

The Collaborative Robot special exhibition is expected to attract particular attention in light of their comparison to the “blue ocean” by the robot industry. Companies and other groups that have so far applied to showcase their work include Hanwha Techwin, Robostar, TES-Robot, Mint Robot, SBB, Geotech Korea, SIS, MTSE, the Intelligent Robot Laboratory at Korea University, and Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials (KIMM).

In addition, the Industrial Robots hall will comprise robot technology from companies such as HIGEN MOTOR, GGM, Z-TEC, and Maxon Motor to research institutes such as the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH), and the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI).

The Service Robots hall will feature Roborobo, Robotis, MRT International, Robotron and other companies involved in educational robots. Along with Yujin Robot, RF, AI Brain, MDS Technology and other companies specializing in service robots, the Bucheon Industry Promotion Foundation (BIPF), Incheon Business Information Technopark (IBITP), and Daejeon Technopark will have booths at the exhibition. In addition, China, Taiwan and other overseas businesses are expected to participate in the exhibition. Special Drones and Medical pavillions are also expected to be set up for the event.

As a robot trade exhibition, domestic buyers’ matchmaking and overseas buyers' export business consultations have also been arranged as additional events.

About 70,000 domestic and overseas visitors are expected to visit RobotWorld this year.
